"Director Patricia Ansuini's tight, intermissionless staging of the play's Orange County premiere invites us to feel the claustrophobia of confinement while we observe the ways the two men interact. The drama delves into their personalities, reflecting on a series of contradictions that cause us to forgo any conclusions about either."
-- Back Stage West
"By the time it reaches its conclusion-which is more or less where it began-Coyote on a Fence has moved beyond polarized debate over the same old subjects."
-- O.C. Weekly
"Director Patricia Ansuini's staging is tight and darkly lit, evoking the claustrophobia of confinement while observing the two men's interaction. The script's ambiguities only heighten its realism..."
-- Orange County Register
"This powerful drama grips at every level and forces us to revisit our own prejudices and preconceived ideas."

Synopsis
ONE OF THE MOST HOTLY DEBATED ISSUES OF OUR TIME!
Venture into the moral maze surrounding the death penalty when two opposites are brought together by the proximity of their cells and the fundamental need to make a connection. Protesting his innocence in appeals and the press, John, educated and arrogant, specializes in writing sanitized death row obituaries. Self-confessed racist mass murderer, Bobby, is naïve, simple-minded and psychotic. Side by side in their death row cells, John and Bobby's unfolding relationship allows us to confront our notions of justice, tolerance and media influence. Can one be "innocent" though proven guilty? Is killing a predator always morally justifiable?
