Anthony Neilson (Playwright)
His first stage play Elfare My Lovely was performed at the Traverse Theatre. His second, Normal, played at The Edinburgh Festival and transferred to the Finborough Arms. Penetrator (originally commissioned by Colin Ludlow as a BBC Screenplay) played the Edinburgh Festival '93, transferred to the Finborough and then to the Royal Court Theatre Upstairs in January '94. Further works include The Year of the Family (Finborough 1994), Heredity (Royal Court) and White Trash (National Theatre Studio). He directed his play The Censor at the Finborough Theatre in April 1997 which transferred to the Royal Court, Duke of Yorks, had a third run at The Ambassadors and won the Writers Guild Award for Best Fringe Play 1997. He wrote and directed Stitching for The Bush/Red Room which played at the Traverse at the Edinburgh Festival, transferred to The Bush and toured England and Scotland afterwards and for which he was nominated Evening Standard "Most Promising New Playwright". His third play in 2002, The Lying Kind played in the main house, Royal Court. [top]

Beach Vickers (Director)
Beach has acted at the Chance in Goodnight Children Everywhere (OC Weekly nomination, supporting actor), Porcelain (GLAAD Media nomination, outstanding L.A. theater production) and Cabaret (Back Stage West Garland Awards, musical actor, honorable mention). The Lying Kind is his West Coast directorial debut, after having directed a variety of productions from Shakespeare to children's theater in his home state of West Virginia and four other eastern states. Masako Tobaru (Set Designer)
Masako has been a proud company member for 2 years. She recently designed the set for with their eyes (LA Times Critic's Choice) and Never In My Lifetime (BSW Critic's Pick) and designed lighting for The Eight, A Christmas Story, The Rover, Closer Than Ever (LA Times Critic's Pick), It's A Wonderful Life, and Grand Night for Singing. She has also stage managed Into The Woods (BSW Critic's Pick), The Last 5 Years, Cabaret (BSW Critic's Pick), and The Eight: Reindeer Monologues (OC Weekly Theater Award Nominee - Best Production). Elsewhere, she has designed lighting for Working, Seussical, the Musical, Joyful Noise, You're a Good Man Charlie Brown, and received a Kennedy Center award nomination for her lighting design for Medea at Concordia University, Irvine, where she received her BA in Theatre and Communications. Lindsey Suits (Lighting Designer)
Lindsey received her B.A. in theatre emphasizing in lighting design from the University of California, Irvine. She works in numerous theatres across LA and Orange County as an electrician, carpenter and Lighting Designer. Some favorite designs of hers include Mysterious Skin (Rude Guerrilla Theatre), Physical Graffiti dance concert (Claire Trevor Theatre), The Blue Room (Nixon Theatre) and Need (Salvation Theatre). She is also the founding member and Artistic Director of Found Spaces Theatre Company, a company using knowledge to conquer ignorance through art. She has greatly enjoyed working on this project with so many talented and wonderful individuals. [top] |

Casey Long (Sound Designer)
This has been a very exciting year for Casey as a Sound Designer. Having been a Company and Staff Member since 2000, Casey has filled many positions behind the scenes, including Lighting Designer, Stage Manager and Sound Designer. Recent sound design credits include with their eyes: September 11th - The View from a High School at Ground Zero (Los Angeles Times Critic's Choice), Never In My Lifetime (Back Stage West Critic's Pick) and Coyote On A Fence (Back Stage West Critic's Pick). Erika C. Miller (Costume Designer)
Erika is a proud company member of The Chance Theater. She is thrilled to be a part of this hilarious piece and has enjoyed working with such a talented cast and crew! Bobby Hats, Chihuahuas, and crazy people, what more do you need in a show?! Aside from being one of the founders as well as a staff member at The Chance, she is also the resident costume designer. Favorite Chance shows she has designed include: Cabaret (Back Stage West Critic's Pick), Porcelain (GLAAD Media Award nominee Outstanding LA Theatre), Goodnight Children Everywhere (OC Weekly Award nominee Best Production), The Cherry Orchard, The Mikado, As You Like It (OC Register's Top Productions of 2002), and HMS Pinafore to name a few. Glenda Morgan Brown (Dialect Coach)
Glenda began her dialect coaching career by assisting actors in shows she was directing, and then shows directed by her husband, David Colwell, and it grew from there. Some of the shows she has coached are Hay Fever, Don't Dress For Dinner, Dangerous Obsession, and Shadowlands (all Standard British); The Sum of Us (Australian); Taking Sides (German); and Dracula, requiring no less than seven different accents! Glenda's previous work with The Chance includes Cabaret, One Flea Spare, and the challenging Porcelain, requiring seven distinct British Isles sounds. Glenda is also a professional actress, seen recently as the Vice President's wife on "Commander in Chief," and co-stars on "Close to Home," "The West Wing" and an upcoming episode of "Boston Legal." She's happy to be back with The Chance Theater "family." [top] |

Lisa Kay Cox (Stage Manager)
Lisa Kay Cox, a recreational therapist by day, would like to thank The Chance Theater for letting her return to star in the role of stage manager and sound board op for The Lying Kind. She has spent her first year here in California trying to teach actors the importance of "y'all" and "honeychile". She was last seen in her beautiful south, being herself, as Katerina in Taming of the Shrew. [top] |

Warren Draper (Light Board Operator)
Warren has appeared on The Chance stage in Lee Miller: The Angel and The Fiend, The Cherry Orchard, One Flea Spare (Back Stage West Critic's Pick), Hot 'N' Throbbing, and the recent Into The Woods (Back Stage West Critic's Pick). A Company Member, this is his first time in the "booth." Pursuing film, he has a major role in the film "Tomorrow is Today," which has garnered numerous awards at film festivals around the country. "What a joy it has been to watch this theater company grow in the 3 plus years I have been a part of it. I have never in my career been surrounded by such talent, and such passion. David Chorley (Blunt)
This is David's 10th show of 2006, others have included: Assassins (OCC), Star Wars: The Musical and Breast Men (OCCRep), Dora Hand (Beth Hansen's Artist Company), Funny.Forum (Costa Mesa Playhouse), Long Goodbye and Demolition Downtown (Rude Guerrilla) and the title role in Scapino ! (OCC). He also appeared as understudy in with their eyes: September 11th - The View from a High School at Ground Zero (LA Times Critic's Choice) in June here at The Chance. Krystal Cori Garcia (Carol/Chinkie)
Krystal Cori Garcia is more than ecstatic to appear for the second time at The Chance Theater and is even more thrilled to be working with such a talented cast and crew. Krystal is currently attending Fullerton College to obtain her associates degree in theater arts. Her credits include: Asaka in Once On This Island, Reno Sweeney in Anything Goes, Snake Lady in Side Show, Sister Mary Hubert in Nunsense, and Florinda and Cinderella's Mother in The Chance's production of Into The Woods. In the near future, Krystal hopes to be in many other projects at The Chance. Tara Henry (Gronya)
Tara is thrilled to be making her debut at The Chance Theater. She is originally from Sacramento. However,
she recently graduated from CSU, Long Beach with her
BA in Performance. There she last appeared in
Shakespeare's Titus Andronicus, of which she stared
as Titus Andronicus. Along with this, she has
appeared in Aladdin and The Wonderful Lamp as
Scherazade, Thieves Carnival as Eva, and The
Vagina Monologues, along with many other productions

Michael Irish (Gobbel)
Zing! This is Michael's eleventh production with The Chance Theater. Previously he was seen onstage in Oedipus At Colonus, Hang Up, Company, It's A Wonderful Life, The Eight: Reindeer Monologues, Cup of Ha-Ha 2, The Diary of Anne Frank, Fig:R.O., Cabaret, and in the booth for Hot 'N' Throbbing. He has also performed at Rude Guerrilla Theater, The Laguna Playhouse, Shakespeare Santa Cruz, and South Coast Repertory. He popped up in heaps of shows at U.C. Kim Kiedrowski (Balthasar)
Kim is
delighted to be back at The Chance Theater after a bit
of a hiatus. He was last seen at the Garden Grove
Playhouse as Arlen Trumbull in the one act, Sunday.
Other favorite roles include Dr. Chumley in Harvey,
Kreton in Visit to a Small Planet, and Vinnie in The Odd Couple. Kim would like to thank Beach, the
cast, and crew for more laughs than one man can
handle; his darling Karen for all she does to make
life wonderful; and his talented children for keeping

Glenn Koppel (Shandy)
Stripped down to its bare essentials, the naked truth is that Glenn keeps coming back to perform at The Chance because he loves the place - most notably, its professionalism and its company. The Lying Kind is Glenn's fourth show at The Chance. Joan Neubauer (Garson)
Joan is pleased to come back to The Chance after a long absence, but she's been happily performing in many other productions in LA and Orange Counties. Recently, she was seen as Aunt Eller in Oklahoma, a Limon /Carr production; just before that at the Gallery Theater in the premiere of Restroom at Rosenbloom's, which was preceded by Barefoot In the Park, Steel Magnolias, Boeing, Boeing, The Last Night of Ballyhoo, The Curious Savage, Cabaret, Blithe Spirit, Rebecca, Love Letters, Arsenic and Old Lace and more, to total more than 70. It is a wonderful experience to work so closely with Beach, Lisa and this talented cast -- she hopes you laugh until your sides hurt! [top] |
