JULY 23 - Swing State: A Musical Fable
Book and Lyrics by Dana Yeaton
Music by Andy Mitton

Bonnie has promised God she’ll save every little soul in her Appalachian Kindergarten class, and if that means risking her job or triggering her chronic back pain – well, so be it.  Her aches drag her to Neil, the new chiropractor in town: a gay, new-age transplant from Brooklyn.  World views and spiritual perceptions collide as these two seekers struggle for common ground and are forced to delve deep if they truly wish to find healing – for her students, his patients, and themselves.  Fresh off a run at the New York Musical Theatre Festival, the Chance is excited to collaborate with Mitton and Yeaton on their latest revision of this new musical!

Penedo, bring us one of their newest creations!

ABOUT "ON THE RADAR" READING SERIES:
“On the Radar” Series at Chance Theater is a collection of intimate readings of bold new works currently in development. Each season, OTR produces two readings of new plays from our Resident Playwright. By presenting these works in-progress to our audiences, OTR provides an exclusive opportunity for our artists and audience members to theatrically explore and give feedback on projects rehearsing only three to five days prior to performance. Running alongside the Mainstage season, performances are on Tuesday evenings and are usually one-night-only events. Tickets are complimentary for Sustaining Members as part of their benefits package.
