J. R. graduated from USC with a BFA. She played Helena in Look Back in Anger, directed by Forest Whittaker and produced by Anthony Edwards at Hollywood’s well-known Cast Theatre. During this time, she also wrote several full length plays, including A Brush with Fate, which was produced at Hollywood’s West Coast Ensemble and directed by Michael T. Weiss. She produced Earthtrek, which is distributed by APT to PBS affiliates across the country. Sussman’s latest play, For Pete’s Sake, was a finalist in the Playwright’s Circle Playwriting Festival, 2000.
