Wrapping up its preview weekend today, the Skylight production team is gearing up for its official opening this upcoming Saturday, April 27th. If you were not among the audiences over the last couple days, Skylight is a tender, explosive, funny, and critically-acclaimed play about ex-lovers fighting to overcome grief, shame, regret and the need to be forgiven. The show’s director (and Chance Theater’s Artistic Director) Oanh Nguyen said, “I am so excited to direct this play. David Hare has drawn each of his characters so fully that we are taken away on this journey that is deeply intimate, emotional, and funny, while also being a study of politics, economics, and society. The audience never loses touch with what’s personally at stake for these characters even as they are debating the world’s problems. And although the play takes place in London in the early 1990’s, it has proven to have a universal resonance.”
Written by one of the world’s greatest living playwrights, David Hare (Amy’s View, The Judas Kiss), and starring three very talented artists — Jessica Erin Martin, Steve Marvel, and Sam Bullington — all making their Chance debuts with this production, this is a must-see for Chance audiences who have loved our prior productions of Good People, Tribes, and Seminar.
