On Tuesday, May 16th at 7:30 p.m. at the Richard Nixon Presidential Library & Museum, five veterans opened up to a full audience for a very special performance of Veterans Speak Up.

Since 2015, Chance Theater’s Veterans Speak Up program has partnered with many community organizations to create a platform for veterans to share their stories and express themselves in hopes to promote social healing and deepen our community’s understanding of our local heroes.

Thank you to this year’s veterans for sharing your stories with us:

  • Ernesto T. Mariscal (SFC, U.S. Army, retired)
  • Joon Park (U.S. Marine Corps)
  • Joseph Vanderhoff (U.S. Marine Corps and NYPD)
  • Austin Piampiano (Specialist First Class, U.S. Army)
  • Pete Smith (1st Lieutenant, U.S. Army)

And thank you to the individuals and groups who helped make it possible for this program to be offered entirely free-of-charge:
